The
Skyjumpers Vertical Sports Club (also known as the SJVSC) is
run by 1972 Olympic bronze medalist Jan Johnson. Jan Runs several
camps around the country teaching basic and advanced techniques of
pole-vaulting. He has coached a number of world class pole-vaulters
including the 1997 World Championships bronze medalist Dean Starkey
(19'5"). Jan is also the National Safety Director of the pole-vault.

Recently
Jan Johnson received the
Southern California Track and Field Life Time Achievement
Award for his work in pole vault education and safety. Here
Jan accepts his award from Southern California T&F vice
president, Skip Stolley at the Sportsman's club in Studio
City.
